The Energy Independence and Security Act signed into law by President George W. Bush in 2007 takes effect January 1, 2012. I have noticed a lot of confusion and misconceptions about the new law on the internet. Many people seem to think the law will ban incandescent bulbs and force them to buy new bulbs that are expensive and inferrior in quality.
